21 Hearts of Psalms 119:18

This week I delivered an order of 21 Scripture Hearts to a dear lady who ordered them all with Psalms 119:18 to give to her bible study group. What a delightful way to memorize scripture! After completing all the hearts, I packaged them in this sweet peach paper box.  I'd like to try this with little scripture pillows next!

A Patchwork Tent

I couldn't help but share this when I stumbled upon it this morning while online looking for images of quilts. What a sweet, sweet idea for a little girl for the summer! Click on the photo to go to the lil blue boo website for the tutorial.

A Quilt & Poem for Baby Clara

This was my first quilt ever! I'd made table toppers and other projects, but this is the first quilt. And for who other than my great niece Clara! I made the quilt in time to give it to Hattie, Clara's mama, at the baby shower before Clara was born. Attached to the package was the poem shown below which I've since printed and surrounded with the fabrics and pattern of the quilt to hang in Clara's nursery. I hope she enjoys this quilt and wears it out with love!

Isn't she just adorable!!! And she's always this happy! Sweet, sweet Clara!

I can't wait to start quilts for the other nieces and nephews. This is soooooo fun :)

My First Quilt Retreat
     A Luxurious Treat!

Each guest room bed is covered with a homemade quilt. Old world, luxurious comfort!
I experienced my first quilt retreat this past weekend. It was nothing less than luxuriously wonderful! The retreat was hosted by Quilt with Judy. 14 quilters gathered in this beautiful historic mansion known as Jones Mansion in Mineral Point, WI. I had such a wonderful time and met such nice women that I can't wait to go back! I'm definitely hooked on this quilt retreat!

Fireplace in one of the bedrooms

The entire 3rd floor is the sewing area with room for 14+ quilters and their machines. There are 3 cutting and ironing centers. Big windows flooded the area with natural light during the day.
The Making of a Heartfelt Quilt

This past fall my sister-in-law, Sue, was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma. During her treatment I invited both sides of Sue's family to come together to make a quilt of our love. I sent out fabric squares to each family member for them to write her a message of love and encouragement. As the squares started coming back, I assembled the blocks, then the rows and finally the quilt.
It was only a couple weeks ago that we were finally able to give Sue her quilt. This was truly the most meaningful project I've ever worked on. Thank you to everyone for sharing your love for Sue with me so that we can wrap her in our love together! Read more....

1000 lbs. of therapy

View from the kitchen window over the sink. Noble, the beautiful boy wanders the pasture, relaxing in the breeze. He is literally 1000 lbs. worth of therapy. Gentle, always happy to see you!

Best part is he'll meet you anywhere in the pasture and listen.

The Amish Built barn on the farm. Slide open the huge doors and step into a quiet, peaceful space with plank board floors, lofts for hay and home to many, many bats up along the rafters. We love the bats as they control the mosquitoe population and don't cause us any trouble at all. Other than the horse, the bats and toads are much appreciated here on the farm.
